Members present: Tim Tenhave, Debra Huffman, Hel= ynne Wenz, Connie Kreider, Newton Coryell, and Denise O’Dwyer

Meetin= g called to order at 7:34

&= nbsp;

First = order of business was to elect a chairman and vice chairman. Debra made a motion to nominate Tim Tenhave as chairman, Denise O’Dwyer seconded the motion.= No discussion on motion. Vote was 5-0-1 in favor.

Debra t= hen made the motion to nominate Denise O’Dwyer as vice chairman. Tim seco= nded the motion. No discussion on motion. Vote was 5-0-1 in favor.

Tim an= d the committee then had a discussion on Goals and Duties of the subcommittee.

Duties are: - To implement the HHNP Defini= tive Plan.

-&nb= sp; To meet quarterly (at least)

-&nb= sp; Bob Croatti reports back to the MCC

-&nb= sp; Andy, Bob, and or Tim will update the Town Council

-&nb= sp; To report to the Town Council on any large projects we are going to be underta= king.

The co= mmittee then decided that minutes will be taken and will be rotated by each member. Denise O’Dwyer will be first minute taker.

Tim sa= id he would be updating the www.HHNP.org web site over the next few months.<= /o:p>

Debra = handed out a sheet of “trail task”, a “non trail task”, tr= ail map and the first draft of the HHNP Trail Master Plan. Tim explained to Bob the history o= f the trail master plan.

Debra = started the conversation of a “big loop” or a “small loop” = as being the main trail of the property. At this time the group is going to th= ink about which would be better.

Connie= asked about Old Kings Highway (OKHW= ) project and how the MCC has to give it’s blessing on the of changing OKHW fro= m a class VI road to a class A or B trail, because the MCC is the managing body= of HHNP. The committee agreed it should be a joint venture with the Heritage Commission.

Newt m= entioned that the Parking lot on Amhers= t road was never fully completed. How the Kiosks need to be finished with Ernie’s help and rocks need to be removed. Lynne asked if the flowers along the road could remain there. Newt has taken ownership of getting this done.

The Go= als for 2007 (short term)

&= nbsp;

1 To f= inish and plan the grand opening of the Amherst Road parking lot.

2 To s= ummit the paper work to the DES to get the trail from the parking lot made.<= /o:p>

3 Name= the trails for safety reasons.

4 To c= reate trail segment to connect the existing “Spaulding Trail” to the existing “Horse Hill Trail”

5 To f= ind a way to inexpensively bridge the south end of Long Pond (this bridge must ha= ndle all uses.)

6 To o= rganize trail walks for the public, so that they can become familiar with the prope= rty.

The co= mmittee discussed all these goals at great lengths.

Newt w= ill be in charge of the parking lot.

Debra = will take on the DES paperwork.

Bob wi= ll ask the MCC about rules for naming trails.

Debra = has been working on marking a trail segment to connect the Spaulding Trail with the Horse Hill Trail.

Commit= tee decided to hold organized trail walks on the first Sunday of every month, f= rom the Amherst parking lot at 1PM. Kick off will be November.

Discus= sion about who would get the word out for the public walks ensued and Connie was named the Public Relations person.

&= nbsp;

Tim re= minded everyone that hunting season is here and we should all wear orange. Tim also mentioned he would be putting up the Share the woods hunting signs on all access points.

The co= mmittee then talked about their meeting schedules. The committee decided it will me= et every two weeks until November. First and third Mondays at 7:30 pm in the Conference room in Town Hall.
